Moving In!

This is phase 1. Everything I own in a pile in the middle of my room. Excellent.

This is phase 2. No more pile, just crudely sorted and stacked.

Phase 3. Instead of unpacking, I spend three hours sweeping, mopping (seriously I had to swab it like a pirate ship. It was so dirty) and decorating my balcony with Christmas Lights. Not really a top priority, but I love love love it and it'll be a nice place to take a break from unpacking, once I actually start unpacking again.

Hello Beautiful

Let me introduce to you my new phone. It is a chocolate, and it is light blue, and I am in love with her. She's a beaut. Its nice to have a phone again. I'm so dependent its sad! And I would like to thank my mom for driving down to Provo to take me to buy one because I don't have a car and she had to be there because its on her family plan. I really was going to have a nervous breakdown because I'm moving this weekend and I would have been cut off from my friends, my parents, my landlord and the world. She is the bomb. Love you Mom!

Ding Dong ... My Phone Is Dead

Which old phone? It's Kristin's phone. Ding Dong ... Kristin's phone is dead.... Okay so now picture a thousand sad little munchkins singing that song and weeping. That's how I feel. My phone is dead, and its just really not an opportune time for that to happen. I have a ton of stress already, and then today my phone broke in half. I seriously want to cry. Its emotional, because I loved that phone and I lost all my contacts, but everything will be okay. I just found out I have 250 more dollars in my bank account than I thought I would have, and so I can buy a new phone. That money really is a huge blessing. I swear it doesn't make sense how it got there, but it really doesn't matter. I paid all my backlogged tithing a couple weeks ago, and all my money problems disappeared today. Hmm. Cooincidence? I think not. I love the gospel. I have a lot to smile about and I really am such a lucky girl. If you need to get a hold of me for the next couple days, my email address is kris0540@hotmail.com and I'll be checking that one pretty frequently.

Slacking, Packing, and Snacking

I am so good at titling my blogs. Lately, I have been slacking in the packing department. I have to be out of my apartment in 48 hours, but I guess with the cup half full I get to move into my new apartment in 48 hours! I have not packed, cleaned or prepared at all. I bought bins and storage bags but I haven't filled them with anything. I have been doing all my laundry though. Yay for me. And this is my favorite detergent. It makes my laundry smell lovely.

But I'm going to be sorting my life away tonight. Not sorting laundry, sorting junk. I tend to keep things I really don't need to keep.

For anyone who knows me, throwing things away is a huge challenge. I have been a pack rat ever since I was a tiny little kid. I'm talking preschool. Pretty much from the time I could pick things up I started keeping odds and ends. One could call it hoarding. I wasn't a shady kid who stole things though. I found most of my treasures bound for the garbage can. For some reason, I just could not bear to watch my mom throw away egg cartons, toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls or anything else I felt I might be able to use later in my creative endeavors. I kept broken toys, rather, the pieces that fell off of the toys, stray pieces of styrofoam, plastic, and cardboard. It got to the point that my mom got me a plastic drawer to keep my stuff in. We called it my "junk drawer" but it was well known that nothing in that drawer was junk to me, and if anyone threw it away I was gong to have a problem with them. I loved making things out of my treasures, including a pretty cool (to me at least) obstacle course I made for a marble I found in my closet one time. I saw this picture on the web, and it reminded me of my earlier hoarding days. It would have been a treasure trove:

I'm pretty good about not keeping pieces of garbage anymore, but I still keep knick knacks and just random things like nobody's business. I just can't help it. I can't throw away anything that I think I'll use later. I have a whole box of "junk" under my bed that I haven't touched for a year, but its still going to be a struggle to get rid of all that stuff.

As for snacking I've done PLENTY of that this week. I think when I get stressed out, refined sugar just makes me feel so much better about the world. My recent weaknesses: bavarian cream filled triangle pastries from 7/11 and cream soda. Pretty much the most concentration of sugar you can get in one sitting. Its great. And it will be my downfall until I'm all resettled in my new apartment.

Oy.

I have been wanting to say bad words all day. I will vent my anger using a series of less offensive words which have all given me a considerable amount of stress today. All of them.

Tests files cheaters spill student loan money stress cramps shady hungry tired rude bills debt frustrated skewed bubblesheets white-out roommates heavy packing moving paying hand-grade late bus mean mom apartment contract scale gym stafford FAFSA phone call chubby candy staple sort apply single laundry dishes stress mess password laptop blankets lights organize appointment charge groceries sleep slow mean vote license proctor explain bully sticky note email loud disconnect commercial paper jam printer fax social security number transcript empty liars earrings time-punch advil tank top pills pass shoes date smell train.

Each of those words could have their own paragraph of complaints. I'm not going to do that, but just know that I could. And each of those paragraphs would be laced with so many expletatives they would probably delete my blogger account. It would be bad. Well it would be bad if I actually said swear words. Which I wouldn't. But I can't lie, I've definately been dropping the F-bomb in my head all day. And I don't ever even say that out loud. It's an involuntary thought process I am not proud of. Oy.

Busses, Bins and Boys

I took the bus to WalMart today.. again. Hey. I don't have a car. Don't judge me. Anyhoo. I was cruising around walmart and I found these blue storage bins. They match everything in my room, and they were only like 4 bucks each! So, naturally I bought three. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to take them back on the bus with me, but I didn't want to pass up such a great deal. So, I loaded all my other groceries into the bins and waited at the bus stop. It looked like this:
I hauled it all onto the bus, and after enduring a few quizical looks from both the driver and the other passengers, I was on my way home. I got to the bus stop closest to my apartment, and got off, and began my uncomfortable walk home. The bins were stacked on top of eachother and were pretty heavy with my groceries inside. I kept stopping and putting them down and changing my grip on them. It was miserable. Some guy noticed, and offered to carry it home for me. And he was NOT ugly. And once again, I wasn't wearing any makeup and I probably looked like a homeless person toting around all my belongings in a box. What is going on here? Every time I am my least attractive self, guys pay so much more attention to me! Its a frustrating phenomenon. Anyway. This guy's name was Tyler (flashback to my 8th grade boyfriend) and I will let you know if we get married.

Day Makers and Breakers

I've had some great days and some lousy days lately, and I think I should jot down some things that make (or break) my day.

Day Maker:

Thinking you don't look so hot, but then a guy does something stupid to impress you anyway. Today was a blustery cold day, and I was walking to my apartment from the bus stop. This guy was across the street talking to a friend, and they kind of smiled at me when I walked by. It suprised me because I really didn't get ready at all today. I didn't even have mascara on and my hair was all blown everywhere. Anyway. I passed them and just kept walking without looking back. A couple seconds later, the guy sprinted past me (he was wearing work out clothes.. he wasn't just running in regular clothes like a nerd late for class) and then he was out of sight. Well, he thought he was out of sight, because he looked back and couldn't see me, so he stopped running and took a breather hahaha. Nice. But he could have just said hi.

Day Breaker:

Yesterday, I had to walk across campus in the freezing wind, wearing a super thin slightly billowy skirt and no jacket. It was one of those days where the morning starts off way nice and warm and sunny, but turns into an afternoon of snow flurries and biting wind as the storm blows in. AND. The wind was hitting me from behind. So, my skirt was sticking to my bum and NOTHING was left to the imagination. That is not okay with me. I don't even swim without my derriere veiled by a skirt made of sturdy fabric. (My research as a curvacious woman shows that skirts reveal less than shorts do when they're wet.) So, I was very cold, and very exposed (without really being exposed) all the way to the bus stop. Maybe someone should buy me a car. I think that would be a day maker.

For the record, I was definately not as glamorous as this:

Let's Get Physical.. Physical..

I would like the world to know that I am awesome. I got up BEFORE work today and went to the gym. Which is a major first for me. I usually only get to the gym after work if I feel like it. BUT I am taking this seriously, and I really am so excited. Now of course, I don't look as awesome as Olivia Newton John when I get physical, but I really am having just as much fun! I need to invest in some leg warmers.

SNEEEEEEZE

Um, for the last three days I have been sneezing non stop. Maybe I have allergies? I don't know. All I know is, no matter how often I blow my nose I have a constant tickle in my left nostril. It is driving me absolutely bonkers. It feels like there is a tiny little elf wearing a feather tutu dancing around in my nose. Seriously. I keep sniffling and scrunching my nose and inhaling really obnoxiously trying to find relief. I think people on the phone are getting grossed out, but I can't even help it! Three days! Its miserable.
